Education System in Ireland

There are seven major universities located in Ireland.

These universities are all highly ranked in the world and are  providing world-class education in all subjects. These Universities are having quality of world-class level. They provide education in any field of choice. The faculty, buildings and facilities are of top class. There is very high competition for getting admission to these universities.


Fourteen Institutes of Technology are there in Ireland.

They are funded by Irish Government. These are similar to the IITs of India. Quality of education of these Institutes are excellent.


Many private colleges  provide world class education.

These colleges are privately funded.Wherever you study, equal importance is given to the qualification when a student apply for any job. The difference is brought by the student's efficiency, adaptability and attitude.

The qualifications provided by all these Universities, Institutes of Technology and Colleges are covered by QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) and by NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications ) of Ireland. These centres of learning provide Level 7 (Under Graduation of 3 years duration), Level 8 (Honours Level Under Graduation of 4 years duration), Level 9 (Post Graduation of one year) and Level 10 (Ph D Level), that are listed in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of Ireland.

These are qualifications are similar but not identical to, the different Levels of Qualifications mentioned in EQF (European Qualifications Framework), but can easily be compared between each other.
